Sophie and Michael have such fun, colorful style, and after months of debating what they wanted to do for their wedding plans, they decided on an elopement in Joshua Tree National Park! They got married on January 3, 2020, just after a rare snowfall hit the desert. We started the morning in Palm Springs at the Saguaro Hotel and stopped by a fun Mid-Century Modern home with a bright yellow door. Sophie and Michael met the owners the day beforehand and they were kind enough to let us take some photos on their property! We took a break mid-day so Sophie and Michael could relax before the ceremony and we all met up later in Joshua Tree. The line to get into the park was pretty crazy because of the snow, but luckily the land is so big we had plenty of space for photos without anyone in sight. Such a fun and special day! Let’s rewind to the beginning of the day – the first stop was this vibrant yellow door in a Mid-Century Modern Palm Springs neighborhood!

The Saguaro Hotel has so many fun backdrops! Angelena gave me Sophie’s bouquet the night beforehand so we’d have it with us in Palm Springs for the morning. Perks of being BFFs with the florist!

Time to head to Joshua Tree! If you’re thinking about eloping in the park you’ll definitely want a permit. We got stopped by a park ranger and he was so happy we had planned ahead and went through the correct channels! We took a few portraits around the park before their ceremony while Angelena of Shindig Chic finished setting up the floral arch.

Meanwhile, Angelena finished creating this beauty!

Sophie and Michael found their officiant online and met him for the first time moments before the ceremony!

Yay, they’re married!!

Moments after the ceremony ended a white classic 1962 Ford Thunderbird convertible showed up to sweep us away for some more photos! I noticed this turnoff when we were driving into the park and luckily it was the perfect spot for the car!

If you look closely you can see the tiniest bit of snow at the foothill of the rocks!
