Modern Pastel Wedding Inspiration at HNYPT

Few things excite me more than collaborating with other vendors to create a fresh editorial! Margaux of Harmony Creative Studio wanted to make a modern springtime shoot at the industrial warehouse HNYPT in Downtown Los Angeles. She brought my BFFs Angelena and Erin of Shindig Chic on board, and they dreamed up the prettiest chiffon pastel backdrop and stunning florals. I absolutely love the color palette and how this shoot is vibrant with a mix of neutrals!

As luck would have it, the day of our shoot was a full on downpour. We all got soaked just getting into HNYPT, and the normally bright white venue was extremely dark. We opened up a side door and started shooting portraits, which created a cool contrasty look that I hadn’t been anticipating. The rain finally stopped mid-afternoon, just in time for the tablescape portion of the shoot. This entire session was shot with natural available light and I’m thrilled that we made it work! Angelena and I met up the next day to do some floral flatlays (our favorite thing) and they tied everything together beautifully.

A big thanks to Green Wedding Shoes for featuring this session on the blog!

Erin painted acrylic and used vinyl to put the names on the seating chart! The chiffon adds such a nice anchor to the hanging.

This jumpsuit though! Yes!

Angelena created a couple of bouquet options for this look – isn’t this one so fun and different?

  1. […] Happy New Year!! It’s always so therapeutic for me to look back on all of the work from the past twelve months and pick some of my favorite photos from each session for a giant recap post. I traveled out of state (or country!) nearly every month last year, and there were so many heartwarming moments and beautiful sights to capture. 2019 was unofficially dubbed the Year of Engagement Sessions – I shot more engagement portraits than ever before, probably because 2020 is shaping up to be the busiest wedding year yet! I hope you enjoy this small window into 2019. The first few images are from four sessions that made me incredibly happy, followed by a full post in chronological order! A huge thank you to my awesome clients – you gave me the opportunity to capture your priceless memories, and you’ve given me such a fun, fulfilling, and exciting job. I’m forever grateful! Hello January! Ann and Deian eloped in San Diego and I couldn’t get enough of their unique style. We explored Balboa Park and the Sunset Cliffs Natural park together – what a lovely afternoon this was! On perhaps the darkest and rainiest day in January I teamed up with Harmony Creative and Shindig Chic for this modern pastel wedding inspiration shoot at HNYPT in DTLA! It was featured here on Green Wedding Shoes and you can also check out my full blog entry here! […]
