Have you ever had that rare, magical experience where you meet someone and instantly feel a special connection with them? That’s exactly how it was when I met Deirdre. We spent the day together at the happiest place on earth (obviously Disneyland) and it was best friendship at first sight!

Let’s back up a bit. Dee and Paul met in college at the University of Arizona – Paul is from Scottsdale originally (and is a high school friend of Angelena’s!) and Dee is from Ireland! They thought they were embarking on a quick college fling, but ended up falling in love – yay! They have traveled all over the world together and spent a few years living in Australia before deciding to ultimately move to the Netherlands this year. The two of them got married in Bali (you know, the half way point between the USA and Ireland) but knew they wanted to take wedding portraits in the beautiful state where they first fell in love. Thus, a couple weeks following our Disneyland adventure, Dee, Paul, Angelena and I met up in Sedona, AZ for a photo session in their wedding outfits!

None of us had ever been to Sedona, and wow, is it breathtaking. Ang and I arrived a little early to scout, and we started at Cathedral Rock just before the sun dipped behind the mountain. The four of us had an absolute ball photographing until dusk! We finished out the adventure with empanadas at a local restaurant and left with full hearts (and tummies). It was a beautiful and incredibly fulfilling day!

Shindig Chic (aka Angelena) made this bouquet to mimic the Arizona sunset. Nailed it!

Paul and Dee have such a sweet, special relationship! I love Dee’s playfulness!
