2023 is well underway, but I didn’t want another year to go by without recapping the incredible days I was lucky enough to capture! 2022 was truly the year of the wedding boom, just like everyone predicted. I missed 2021’s recap entirely – between the pandemic postponements and regular bookings, things have honestly been non-stop since mid 2021. We went from 0 to 10000 in no time! I am incredibly grateful that my business made it through the pandemic thanks to these wonderful clients. 2022 was full of unique designs, inspired color palettes, dogs at weddings, and couples who weren’t shy about doing things their own way. Thirty (!!) different couples got married! For that reason this recap will be split into two different posts with January through June featured here. All of these photographs were edited using Kindred Preset’s Mary Costa Collection, which we released this past summer. What a year! These photos are a peek at days to come in this blog entry:
Okay, let’s rewind to January! Celina and Arthur did a Mission San Juan Capistrano engagement session. They share a mutual love of old world architecture so this location was perfect for them!
Morgan and Thomas had a gorgeous wedding at The Bougainvillea Estate just outside of Palm Springs in Indio, CA!
February! Amy and Matt eloped in Joshua Tree. I was lucky enough to be their photographer and their officiant!
Sierra and Jarrett’s La Quinta Country Club wedding took place at sundown on a beautiful February day.
Their grandmothers were the flower girls!
Paige and Ryan had the most stunning day at The Lautner Compound. Their Palm Springs wedding is featured here on Green Wedding Shoes!

March! Samantha and Graham wanted a sunset beach engagement session to document their new life in California from the east coast. This Malibu beach is the perfect location.
Their sweet pup, Penny, came along!
Angelena and Michael got married at Nowhere outside of Joshua Tree. I was both a bridesmaid and a photographer! Their wedding is featured here on Green Wedding Shoes.
Angelena is the owner of Shindig Chic and did all of her own flowers! This table was incredible.
Kelley and BJ brought their bulldog, Pliny, along for their Culver City and Santa Monica engagement session. This California Dreaming mural in Los Angeles is such a great backdrop for colorful engagement photos.
We wrapped up the afternoon with the Santa Monica Pier behind us!
April! Marian and Matt got married at The Lautner Compound. It was fun being back at this incredible venue!
We had our ad campaign shoot for Kindred Presets x Mary Costa! This day was truly a dream come true. We started at sunrise in front of this iconic pink wall at the Sands Hotel & Spa.

Celina and Arthur did a beautiful wedding portrait session at Balboa Park in San Diego! This incredible public park has so many different backdrops.
May! HAWAII! Ella and Greg got married at Kuaola Ranch on Oahu. Their Moli’i Gardens wedding was filled with colorful florals and happy tears.
Aside from a brief sprinkle during our portraits the projected rainstorm held off until the evening!
Bobbi and Gabe’s Calamigos Ranch wedding was a full nod to Taylor Swift’s Oscar de la Renta Grammy’s gown.
We met up again at Huntington Gardens for some post-wedding portraits in the rose garden. So beautiful!
Jenny and Dan got married at Ebell Long Beach!
Gabby and Lewis postponed their wedding multiple times and finally got married two years after their original date!  King Gillette Ranch was an incredible venue.
