I met Aly and Gavin through mutual friends and am beyond happy they’ve come into my life. They have a zest for life and joyfulness about them that makes everyone else feel instantly comfortable. As my second photographer and I drove down to La Jolla the morning of the wedding, I said, “I think they need to become my new BFFs.” Fast forward a few hours, and their wedding planner, Sandy, was saying the exact same thing! This couple just has that sweet effect on everyone they meet!
Aly and Gavin love Seinfeld and managed to include several nods to the classic sitcom in their wedding design, which was created by my loves at Shindig Chic. A & G are so kind and thoughtful, and they also share a hilarious sense of humor. Their day was chock full of laughter, happy tears, and personal touches. There wasn’t a dry eye during their ceremony, especially once Gavin and his wedding party started serenading Aly with Aladdin’s “A Whole New World.”
This is quite possibly the longest wedding entry I’ve ever posted. Between Aly and Gavin’s awesome style, the gorgeous venue, the delightful light, a bounty of creative details, and the heartfelt candids…I just couldn’t help myself. Enjoy!
Angelena made the sweetest heart-shaped bouquet!
Darlington House has beautiful Spanish style architecture.
Just as Aly was about to do her first look with Gavin her dad walked into the library! Unplanned and so sweet!
Aly picked the prettiest embellished dresses from ASOS for her ladies!
Cue the Aladdin sing-along!
I knew for certain that A&G are kindred spirits of mine after they named their cocktails for the podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno.
Shindig Chic outdid themselves with this seating chart! Erin drew all of those floral illustrations and also used them for the table cards. Beautiful!
Aly and Gavin love playing Bingo so they decided to play a game at their wedding too!
Shindig Chic took their concept from our HNYPT shoot and used it for this epic dessert spread!
Now THAT’S AN ENTRANCE.
We had originally planned on doing sunset photos a bit later in the day, but when the clouds rolled in we decided to leave early!
We made it back to the party just in time for BINGO!
And just for the record, these two have since become friends of mine – dreams DO come true!!
