Caitlin & Brian’s Wedding at Fig House

Caitlin and Brian met in – wait for it – FIRST GRADE of elementary school!! They started dating at the end of high school and have been together ever since. How sweet is that?! They knew they wanted their day to be colorful, relaxed, and somewhere that has amazing food and drinks. Fig House in Highland Park was the perfect fit!

Caitlin and Brian chose to do a first look, which I always recommend, but first looks are especially great in self-contained locations like Fig House so you can maximize photo locations before guests really start arriving. They had an indoor ceremony and an outdoor dinner, which is a reversal of the typical Fig House wedding, and I loved it! They also had a mixed gender wedding party which I’m 100% all about. Scroll down to see all the beauty from this colorful day!

Caitlin picked the Suri gown from Catherine Deane. So pretty!

Loving that floral detail!

Caitlin and Brian got married mid-May, aka prime peony season!

This painting sold pretty soon after the wedding. It was meant to be here to match The Little Branch‘s creation!

Floral socks? Yes please.

When wedding guests arrive early, you shield the bride and groom! I loved this fun moment!

Photography tip: if you’re getting married indoors and have enough natural light, always turn off any artificial lights to avoid weird colors and harsh shadows!

Just on the other side of all those people…! Another tip – if your reception space is accessible during cocktail hour, it’s best to have it fully set up (chairs too!) before guests begin arriving so your photographer can get detail shots without people/purses/scarves/phones in the photo!

Caitlin and Brian named their tables after places that are special to their relationship, yes!

This Sweet & Saucy creation is stunning! We moved it in front of the paintings since it matched so beautifully.
